Mission Statement

The Mission of the Huntsville/ Madison County Hospitality Association (HMCHA) is to unite members of lodging, restaurant, tourism, travel, and allied services industries for the enhancement and promotion of their governmental, communication, research, educational, and membership opportunities.

Annual Awards & Scholarships

Each year, HMCHA awards our members who are making an impact in our local Hospitality Industry. We have the Red Ribbon award as well as the Pineapple Award. We also award annual scholarships to our members, employees of our members, or children of our members who are pursuing a Hospitality field. New for 2017 is a $1,000 scholarship to the coveted Southeast Tourism Society's Marketing College held annually at the University of North Georgia. Investing in the marketing skills of our members will help our entire community grow.

For more details on each of these items - visit our Awards Page. These awards are handed out each year at our Annual Meeting at our Pineapple Dinner where we get together and celebrate the success of the previous year and swear in our new board of directors for the year ahead.

Education And Training Opportunities

HMCHA provides the opporutnity for our members to obtain training and education in various industry topics. Some trainings we offer include CEUs and will be listed on our Events Page.

Networking And Communication

HMCHA provides information through internal channels to keep members better informed of current issues through monthly updates. This information features items such as industry news, people on the move, tourism trends, and upcoming events. Be sure to join our Newsletter and our Social Channels to keep updated. We're on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

HMCHA offers regular networking opportunities including monthly luncheons which also feature highly qualified speakers on industry related topics. Our Members get the opportunity to make property announcements at our monthly luncheons to highlight current events or requests for support. Visitors introduce themselves and state the name of their organization.

Our HMCHA Website: www.huntsvillehospitality.org is our resource for the association bylaws, member directory, luncheon location, and other group announcements.

In 2016 we also introduced a Facebook Group for HMCHA Members to share / collaborate with one another on industry topics and to also help one another spread the word about important events they have scheduled. This group is growing and we hope you join us to become a part of this dynamic organization.

Governmental Affairs

An important function of the HMCHA is to keep members abreast of changing local and state legislation as well as government regulations that have an impact on the hospitality industries. HMCHA will survey membership to identify key legislative and regulatory issues of concern, so that members can have a stronger voice in addressing important topics.

Membership Outreach

HMCHA offers an investment in the future success of tourism and travel in Huntsville-Madison County. The Association offers yearly scholarships for students employed by our members as well as honors those individuals who have been outstanding in their field each year.

HMCHA also provides various fundraising efforts for our Members. Currently, the largest fundraising effort is the annual "Taste of Huntsville". This event allows our food and beverage members to showcase their product to the community while the association raises money for selected charities. Member Benefit - only Members can participate in this event, which is GREAT exposure for your Brand to the 1,000+ local community attendees of a wonderful night of food and charity!

Other charitable donations made on behalf of our members have included groups such as Toys for Tots, Sheriff's' Department Nursing Home Gift Bags, Meals on Wheels, as well as the Downtown Rescue Mission Thanksgiving and Christmas Meals.
